Do you have a dream that you are awaiting to fulfill? Or are you  consistently struggling to achieve a goal? Do you feel like you are making no progress despite all your hard work like you are spinning in a circle?   If you answered yes to these three questions, then this blog is for you!

The Journey to Success is not easy, believe me!  I have struggled and jumped over so many hurdles to get where I am in life. My learning disability is my strength, not my weakness. There is a stigma that those with special needs are weak and limited to their ability. I want to let you know there are #nolimits to what we can achieve!

Join me on this journey to success! I want to share with you, my personal stories of inspiration and motivation that helped me to overcome the challenges I have faced. Your special needs may be different than mine but you do not have to overcome the challenges alone. We are on this journey together!

Growing Pains

There is a lot of misconceptions about learning disabilities. One is that children with learning disabilities grow out of their issues. In fact, this is false. Learning disabilities, impact individuals throughout their lifespan. LDs impact individuals differently but they affect our emotional well-being. From time to time one may feel ashamed the fact that they are incapable of doing something or performing well at a task compared to a non-LD individual.  I am speaking from experience.

If I can be honest with you, the last few months has been incredible change and growth for Special Compass. Although, all this growth has been positive with change comes pain, and I have not always had the best positive attitude and multiple times found myself in a mental battle with myself. Rather than, write out this experience I thought it would be a good idea to share with you a bit of that journey and give you a teaser of some great changes in the near future with Special Compass. This fall Special Compass will be launching a podcast, here is a quick teaser of what you can expect in the upcoming months.

While, I have been opened about my learning challenges in the past, I seldom talk about the challenges I still face on the regular as a result of my learning disability. Just like you, I am human and from time to time will experience frustration, doubt, lack of motivation etc.  Growing pains are a part o of life. But in those moments when I am down I have recognized it is okay to acknowledge the emotions of that moment but it’s not cool to have a pity party and stay defeated. Everything happens for a reason, and I have learned three important lessons from my experience.

Do NOT COUNT YOURSELF OUT- Just because things are not working out according to your plan, or coming together and the rate or way you imagined. Do not beat yourself up and be quick to give up. Sometimes things are coming together in a different form and in a better way far than we could imagine.

LET GO OF LACK LANGUAGE – Every day I am learning more and more to operate from a mindset of abundance and know that I have everything I need within me to succeed.

YOU ARE ENOUGH – “If I wasn’t supposed to be here, I wouldn’t have made it this far.”  I constantly remind myself when I start second guessing my abilities.  My learning disability is something I have but it does not limit me to how far I can go in life. I am more than capable of achieving greatness just like anyone else. I am more than enough.

Navigating the journey to success can bring on many challenges, but it is important not to be discouraged during a storm. Brighter days are always on their way. There are #nolearninglimits that can stop you from achieving success.
